Economic Development Leadership
The Cook County Economic Development Commission provides full time professional economic development services. Representatives from the County Commission, City of Adel and Adel Industrial Authority serve on the Commission.The Adel Industrial Authority, a statutory created entity, provides low-cost, tax exempt and project financing.
Adel-Cook County Chamber of Commerce serves its membership in the business, commercial and industrial arena and has a strong partnership with the Economic Development Commission.
The Workforce Development Center, a satellite campus of Valdosta Technical College, provides technical training and vocational skills to a five county area. Since its inception, the Workforce Development Center has increased its enrollment 400% meeting the needs of existing industries, a regional workforce, and surrounding counties.
There are 25 civic clubs active in Cook County. The Cook County Arts Council provides high quality programs and productions expanding artistic opportunities to young and old alike. Over one hundred churches serve the community.
